وتشارك مصر بفريق مكون من الثنائي باسم أمين وشاهندة ناجي، في منافسات الشطرنج خلال دورة الألعاب الإفريقية الثالثة عشرة.
وتسعى البعثة المصرية إلى تحقيق المزيد من الميداليات والفوز بلقب البطولة وتحطيم الرقم القياسي، ورفع علم مصر عاليًا.
وتعد دورة الألعاب الإفريقية أكبر الملتقيات الرياضية في إفريقيا، حيث تقام كل أربع سنوات تحت إشراف الاتحاد الإفريقي السياسي مالك الدورة واتحاد اللجان الأوليمبية الإفريقية (الأنوكا)، وأيضًا اتحاد الاتحادات الرياضية الإفريقية (الأوكسا).
وتخوض مصر منافسات دورة الألعاب الإفريقية أكرا 2023، ببعثة مكونة من 262 لاعبًا ولاعبة بواقع 163 لاعبًا و99 لاعبة يتنافسون في 21 رياضة مختلفة وهى "مصارعة الذراعين، ألعاب القوى، الريشة الطائرة، كرة السلة 3*3، الكرة الطائرة الشاطئية، الكرة الطائرة، الملاكمة، الشطرنج، الهوكي، كرة اليد، الجودو، الكاراتيه، السباحة، تنس الطاولة، التايكوندو، التنس، الثلاثي، رفع الأثقال، المصارعة، وكرة السرعة، الألعاب الإلكترونية".

واصل لاعبو تنس الطاولة تألقهم خلال منافسات دورة الألعاب الإفريقية 2023، التي تستضيفها العاصمة الغانية أكرا، خلال الفترة من 8 وحتى 23 مارس الحالي.
وحصد لاعبو تنس الطاولة ميداليتين جديدتين في منافسات زوجي المختلط بمنافسات دورة الألعاب الإفريقية.
ونجح الثنائي مريم الهضيبي ويوسف عبدالعزيز في حصد ذهبية زوجي المختلط لتنس الطاولة، دون خسارة أي شوط طوال منافسات المسابقة.
كما توج الثنائي محمد البيلى ومروة الهضيبى بالميدالية البرونزية لدورة الألعاب الإفريقية غانا 2023 لتنس الطاولة في منافسات زوجي المختلط.
ورفع منتخب تنس الطاولة رصيدهم في دورة الألعاب الإفريقية، إلى 8 ميداليات متنوعة بواقع 5 ميداليات ذهبية وميدالية فضية وميداليتين برونزيتين.
وحصل على الميداليات الذهبية كل من: هنا جودة، عمر عصر، منتخب الرجال فرق، ومنتخب السيدات فرق، والثنائي مريم الهضيبي ويوسف عبدالعزيز في زوجي المختلط.
بينما حصدت اللاعبة دينا مشرف الميدالية الفضية في منافسات الفردي، وتوج اللاعب محمد البيلي بالميدالية البرونزية، كما توج البيلي ومروة الهضيبي ببرونزية زوجي المختلط.
